Development and implementation of ten half-day training programmes on the topic of "needs-based room design"
The individual needs, habits and abilities of residents in a retirement and nursing home are central to the design of the premises. The SCDH has developed a training programme for the Alters- und Pflegezentrum Bruggwiesen. In the realistic test rooms in the Living Lab, the entire staff is sensitised and trained in needs-based room design.
The Alters- und Pflegezentrum Bruggwiesen offers older people a range of living options tailored to their individual needs. These include long-term stays, decentralised residential groups, a home for people with dementia, a day centre, acute and transitional care, respite for family carers, trial living and care and support for people with mental illness. The focus of the services is on the individual people with their life stories and needs.
The SCDH has developed a training programme for the Alters- und Pflegezentrum Bruggwiesen on needs-based interior design. Ten half-day training sessions will be held for the entire staff in 2025, with around 20 employees participating in each session. In the realistic test rooms in the SCDH's Living Lab, they have the opportunity to further their training and exchange ideas. They learn about different perspectives on the room or the patient/resident's room and develop a more conscious perception of the effect of the room. Their self-confidence regarding their individual design options for the rooms and their own working methods is strengthened.
