Healthcare Innovation Day

Healthcare Innovation Day

Joint event organized by SCDH, Zumtobel, LynX® connect and Haelvoet

What might the healthcare spaces of tomorrow look like? This was the question addressed at the Healthcare Innovation Day, organised by the Swiss Center for Design and Health (SCDH) on 30 April 2026 in collaboration with Zumtobel, LynX® connect and Haelvoet.

Translated with DeepL.

Nick Marlein, CEO of AZ Sint-Maria Halle (Belgium), kicked off the event with his keynote speech ‘Innovate with common sense’. In it, he argued not for innovation for its own sake, but for changes that start where they make the biggest difference: close to people and close to practice.

Afterwards, the guests explored the SCDH in small guided groups and experienced how different approaches interlock:

  • Human Centric Lighting from Zumtobel Lighting puts people at the centre and demonstrates how light can positively influence well-being and healing processes.
  • LynX® connect by Unmatched intelligently networks alarm, lighting and process systems – efficiently, discreetly and in a patient-friendly manner.
  • Smart furniture from Haelvoet supports nursing staff in their daily work whilst enhancing safety and comfort.
  • The SCDH brings innovative concepts to life in its Living Lab, even before construction begins or investments are made.

The afternoon clearly demonstrated the potential that arises when industry, design and healthcare think outside the box together. We would like to thank all partners and guests for the inspiring exchange and the fascinating discussions.
