Materials Collection

The materials collection holds a curated selection of materials used in healthcare institutions and public buildings, providing both digital and physical access to them. It compiles extensive information about individual materials and links this with reference projects, relevant scientific findings and evidence-based SCDH projects.

The materials collection helps building owners, planners and skilled professionals to put together their own selection of appropriate and innovative materials by providing a wide range of filter functions, standardised data sheets, assessments of individual materials and by identifying reference projects (buildings in which the materials have been used). Once a selection is made, it can be stored for a specific project and then, with the support of the SCDH’s experts, be experienced and assessed physically at the SCDH in a simulation of the setting it will be used in – to enable well-founded, sustainable decision-making on materials.
